CANCELLATION &
ATTRITION RECOVERY SERVICES
From time to time, an organization will find itself in the unenviable
position of having to cancel a scheduled meeting on short notice due to
circumstances beyond its control. Or, it may find that the expected attendance
for a meeting will fall short causing contracted rooms to be left unused. In
either case this type of cancellation
or attrition requires the organization to pay penalty fees which can be substantial.
If you are
facing penalties for either attrition or cancellation we may be
able to help reduce them. Our company books over 300
meetings per year, many of them on a short term basis. If
you notify us of your situation, we will notify all of our
account directors about the affected hotels and they may be able
to place a meeting there.
There is no cost to you for this service. Any fees we make
will be in the form of commissions directly from the hotel on
any resold rooms.
You should be
aware that there are no guarantees of success and the odds are
not in your favor. Reselling a block of rooms on a short term basis is
notoriously difficult and that is why hotels and resorts have
these clauses in their contracts in the first place.
However, it has been done. Each circumstance is different
and there are number of variables affecting each situation - dates, rates and location being the most obvious. Also,
the more lead time available, the better.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who is 21st Century Group?
21st Century Group is
a hotel site selection company that places meetings, conferences and travel
incentives in destinations worldwide. The
cancellation and attrition recovery service was developed to assist our
clients in cancellation or attrition situations. At the same time, it
benefits other clients interested in securing hotel rooms on a short term basis
at reduced rates.
What types of
organization do you work with?
All types. We work with
corporations, associations, insurance companies, hospitals, universities, CME
providers, government agencies, fraternal societies, religious organizations,
production companies and any other entity that books group rooms.
What does it cost?
There is no cost
to you or your organization. We simply let our account directors know
about the situation and they will review with their clients if appropriate.
Any fees we make will be in the form of commissions directly from the hotel on
resold rooms.
What if my cancellation
or attrition penalty involves more than just
room revenue?
Every situation is different. In cases where F&B or
recreation penalties are involved, each contract must be reviewed in detail.
Generally speaking, if rooms are resold thus creating some additional
"other" replacement revenue, the replacement revenue can be used to
offset some portion of your non-room revenue penalty.
